Ta-Da

It's the long anticipated pictures of the nursery.....

This is the view as you reach the top of the stairs and round the corner towards Taylor's room. The frame straight ahead is from my Fort Worth shower. The mat is signed by all my family and friends and is just waiting for Taylor's picture.


As you enter the door this is the view. You can see the new curtains on the closet(Thank you Terrie aka Mia!). Also you can see my new rocker recliner that will get tons of use and is super comfy! That will make all those feeding s at 4am much easier and I'll try not to fall asleep myself!

As you look to the left of the closet you see a better view of my chair, sorry Chris, our chair and the purple curtains on the window. Another thanks goes out to Mia on those too. Thank god she helped do the sewing for the baby's room because I'm not sure how a pregnant Wendy behind the sewing machine would have been. The bassinet in front of the window will actually be going in our bedroom for Taylor to sleep in for a few weeks.


This is the shelf that we will be storing Taylor's breakables on until she figures out how to climb the crib and reach across to it. I'm sure all those stuffed animals will be tempting for her to play with, including her dad's Champ Bear Carebear. Yes that's right, Chris has a Carebear.


You've seen the crib in previous posts, but we hung the quilt above the crib so that you could see all the cute sea animals.


While I'll be in the chair, this is where you will find Chris after Taylor is born. :) I love how soft the changing pad cover is! By the way... in one of these drawers is where all the precious bows are stored!
You've also seen the bookshelf before, but I'm sure it looks a little different now. Taylor has started her collection of books and stuffed animals to start her off. On the top left corner of the bookshelf is the frog that kept Chris company in a previous blog. So far Sadie hasn't touched a single stuffed animal in Taylor's room. I wonder how long that will last.

So I know you've been wondering what was behind those green curtains and it's more than just the closet organization system that Chris put in. It's FULL of little girl clothes, blankets, diapers, bath supplies, toys, bottles, and all kinds of baby items that our friends and family have given us. I think I've bought 2 outfits for Taylor so far . Keep in mind that the closet goes back to the right and left for a few feet! We truly are blessed to have been given all these wonderful things. I hope Taylor knows how many people love her!

Bows, Bows, and More Bows

So if you've been wondering where I've been instead of posting the pics that I promised a week ago then take a look at all these cute goodies I found for Taylor on Friday.


I loved wearing bows as a little girl and plan on making sure that Taylor has bows to go with all the cute outfits that we've received. My intentions were not to buy bows Friday, but to find a hat for her to wear home from the hospital and I came home with both. I have found a website that shows me how to make bows and I'll be attempting that later on, but these were too good of a deal to pass up on. All Chris could say was 'No Bows, No Bows, No Bows!' as I showed him all my finds. But how can you resist the cute strips and polka-dots??? Guess it's a girl thing. I figured Taylor may not want to look girly when she gets older, so I only get a few years to get these in there!

The picture doesn't do these quite justice, but they are all your bright spring colors like lime green, hot pink, turquoise, and lemon yellow.

Now I just need the baby to put them on.... 26 days and counting down.

Party Time

Just a quick post because I had to share the pictures. We were at the 50th birthday party for a friend tonight and Chris and I decided that Taylor should join in on the birthday fun.

I could not stop laughing and Taylor even got going after I was laughing for so long. Doesn't take much to entire the Lambert family!

Room Helper

If you've been wondering where I've been, I've been in the baby's room working on writing thank you cards and putting gifts away. While I'm in there working away Sadie finds it fun to come help me. Check her out:

One of Sadie's favorite sleeping spots in the nursery is under the crib. I was able to move a few things and get a picture of her slacking off while I was working in there the other day. I've almost finished all the thank you notes and putting away the gifts. Taylor already has a closet full of the cutest clothes and I've only bought her two things myself! I'll post pictures in the next day or so of what her newly organized closet looks like. Chris was in the nursery the other day as I was showing him all the different gifts we have recieved and was humoring me a bit.

It took a few passes of me going back and forth to her closet for me to realize that Chris had this little frog hanging out with him. This is one of the many reasons I love this man... he can always make me laugh!

Thank you cards

I had to post another one of Mel Mel's creations. A couple weeks ago she sent me a little goodie package with the most adorable outfit for Taylor, some cute stars to decorate my house, and a stack of the following thank you cards.

Mel knows me well enough to know that I really want to send out hand-stamped thank you cards, but I don't always have the energy to stamp. Not only was I surprised to find these adorable cards in the package, but VERY thankful. Now, what kind of thank you card do you send to thank someone for making you thank you cards? I'll have to work on that one.

In the meantime, here is one of my own creations from tonight. I figured it was safe to post them since no one knows which they will be receiving and it might actually shock Mel that I stamped and blogged in one night! I will save the other one for tomorrow night since the white ink is still drying. I need to invest in a heat gun so that the white ink will dry faster! The card is pretty simple, but I need to make quite a few so I wanted cute and I really wanted to use this pink ribbon. I placed a Stampin' Up order to get ready for my open house on Saturday and can't wait to get the new stuff in to play with! After thank you notes my next goal is to start on Taylor's announcements... that will be quite a task too!

Funny Mel Mel

So my dear friend Melinda(or Mel Mel as I like to call her) has a very funny sense of humor when it comes to my pregnancy. This is the card that I received in the mail yesterday from her. She spent some time a local dairy helping clean up after a wind storm and she had taken some pics while there. I love how creative she is with pictures and creating cards! I laughed so hard when I opened it and saw the phrase! So I thought I would share her cute card with everyone else so that you might get a little laugh too!

Swollen Ankles and Hiccups

Okay, so most of my friends and family have already seen this picture but I thought you would rather see this than a picture of my swollen feet. It's more like my very swollen left foot and kinda swollen right foot. I find it very strange that one foot is bigger than the other. This makes wearing shoes quite difficult! As you can tell from the picture, I am getting bigger and bigger everyday. I am now 7 3/4 months(31 weeks) along. We have less than 9 weeks to go and I just know it's going to fly by! I have been doing some stamping, but you'll have to wait until Sunday/Monday to see some of my creations. I promise they are already scanned and ready to go. Well it seems that Miss Taylor really likes to get the hiccups. She got them for the first time at the beginning of February and then didn't have them again for almost a week. Now she has them everyday if not more than once a day. They aren't big hiccups, just funny feeling. It does give me an idea of where she's at. The doctor thought on Monday that she had moved into the down position, but she's back to being sideways according to her hiccups. Unless she can fart on rhythm, her head is on my right side.(Farting on rhythm would be a trait she got from her dad)

I'm thinking about making a Lambert family blog so that family doesn't have to sort through my stampings and can just read about baby and our family adventures. The only problem is that I am having trouble coming up with a cute name that includes Lambert. What do you think?

Well that's about it from this pregnant woman. I have my Fort Worth baby shower this weekend and can't wait to see what Kirsten, Desha, and my mom have been up too! Plus it will be wonderful to see all my family in Fort Worth! I will try to post some new pics of Taylor's room next week along with my stamping creations.

Nursery Progress

For all others, keep on scrolling because it's finally some of the pictures that you've all been asking for. You've seen the picture from the internet of the bedding, you've seen the Ikea pictures of the furniture. Now.... here is what the room looks like with all those things put together. Keep in mind that we are still working on the room, while doing all the other things required of life. We still have a little ways to go, but at least this way you can see how it's starting to look. I'm still getting used to walking up the stairs and seeing the door open to her room. I got so used to it being closed all the time that it's actually nice to have it open. Now I can't wait until she comes!

This is a picture of Taylor's bed with her Under the Sea bedding. I went with a lilac dust ruffle and sheet instead of what came with the set. We are going to use the dust ruffle from the set for the closet curtains. (That's a project still in the works, but check back in a few weeks to see the outcome.) I even put the diaper stacker on the end of the bed to add some more fun sea creature accents. We were planning to put the bed on the purple wall, but the bed stuck out too far when you walked in the door. We are still debating on what to do on the walls, so if you have suggestions I would love to hear them. Some of our best decorating ideas have come from other people!

Next we have the dresser on the purple wall. You can see that the wall above it is blank too! I am thinking maybe some of the sea animals from the comforter would look cute here or Taylor's name. I've already started to fill the drawers with diapers, socks, wipes, blankets, and any other little items that we've received already. One of the things that I love most about this dresser is that Ikea sells organizational cubes that fit in the drawers perfectly! They are wonderful for holding Taylor's socks, headbands, and other little items that you never know how to keep organized. I'll have to take a picture for you next time I'm in there with the camera. While you look at this picture, keep in mind that we are going to put a changing pad at one of the dresser so that this can act as our changing table too. I will be spending lots of time here!

This is what you see if you look down at the floor from the picture above. This rug turned out to be SOOO much cuter than it was online! I just love all the colors and the mix of bright and pastel.

Look back up at the dresser and then just a little to your left. This is what you will see. Every child needs a bookcase and I thought this one was too cute! Can you believe that Taylor already has items for her shelves? Don't look at the bottom shelf because that's my 'clean off the top of the dresser' shelf. Yes Gary, that is Taylor's airplane bank on the top shelf and Jefe that is Taylor's wooden shoes from Holland next to it! We have a small shelf unit to hang on the wall near the crib, but it's still downstairs. Once we are 100% this is how we.... wait let me rephrase that to once I am 100% sure this is how I want the nursery Chris will hang the shelf. Items like the shoes will go there so that Taylor doesn't attempt to try them on.

Last picture is of Taylor's closet already. Can you believe that she has 2 more months to go and I've already run out of hangers? I guess that should be expected to make sure that she looks cute all the time. If you were to look more closely at the clothes, you will find not one, but two Texas Tech onesies. She will learn to love Tech from a very early age! Just thought you might get a kick out of the fact that there are still beer signs in the top of her closet. I think Chris is still trying to find a way to tie them in to the nursery theme.

Name Ideas

Okay, so here I am with my feet up in bed, but I wish I was able to be in Taylor's room decorating. The swelling is starting to go down, so I hope to do some decorating tomorrow night or this weekend. In the meantime, I thought I would pick my reader's brains. We are still trying to come up with a middle name for Taylor. Here are the names that we are debating between, but are still open to any ideas:

Ann
Ratatouille(not really, but it's a suggestion that still makes me laugh)

Work in progress

I know I promised pictures of Taylor's room soon, but we had family over for dinner tonight so I didn't get a chance to take pictures of her room. I am also still in the process of putting her crib bedding together and deciding on where I want the furniture. In the meantime you get to see me working on the crib. Keep checking back because I will have nursery pictures up at some point this week if the swelling will go down in my feet and allow me to do something other than sit with them propped up. Thank goodness that I can surf the internet with my feet up!

And let there be color

Yes, that's right.... we have color! You are actually looking at the final purple color for the wall. The first purple color was too light and looked really washed out. My dear husband was SOOOO sweet and repainted the wall for me. I love the darker color! It looks so good with the green walls and I just love how it all turned out. I'm still getting used to having pastel paint in our house, but it is going to look so good with the white furniture. I've included pictures as you look around the room so that you can start to get an idea of how Taylor's room is coming together. We painted three walls green and one wall purple. The purple wall is where the baby bed is going. Chris put the crib together tonight, so I hope to have more pictures up this week as all the furniture pieces are put in place. You can see that the closet is full of Taylor's stuff and some of the items that were still left in her room when Chris went to paint. Once I can start to put some of her items away our next big project is to put in a closet organization system. The soon-to-be grandmothers both suggested that we make better use of all the space we have in the closet. I have to point out that Chris has also replaced the blinds with nice faux wooden ones. He has been a busy little soon-to-be Daddy!


Stay tuned for many updates this week as we work on Taylor's room. Not much time for stamping, but I have been working on crocheting a blanket for Taylor. I will try to scan one of the blocks tomorrow so that you can see!

Taylor's Room

So our weekends and now even our weeknights are consumed with baby tasks. Saturday we spent the day registering at Babies R Us and then we went to Ikea to get furniture for Taylor's room. My brother and sister-in-law gave us their baby bed, so that was a BIG help and we finished out the rest of the room to match. After looking at several different places, the furniture at Ikea seemed like the best investment and it matched the crib the best. We got a dresser that we can put a changing pad at one end and all the diaper needs on top too. I want all those goodies within reach for fast diaper changes! We also thought this would be a good piece to last a while in her room. I even found little organization cubes and rectangles that fit inside the drawers to help divide it up. Chris thinks I'm such a dork, but I love organization and the fact that Ikea makes items the specifically fit the drawers! I can just see how much it will help for those little items like socks and hair bows. We also got a shelf to go above the dresser for decor items that we do not want Taylor to get her little hands on. We already have some little shoes that Chris' brother and his girlfriend brought the baby back from Germany to put on the shelf. I can't wait to start decorating. The last piece of furniture that we bought was a bookcase. I hope that since I keep having forgetful moments, that Taylor is gaining my brain cells and will need lots of shelf space for books. If she doesn't, then she can use it for toys. The bookcase has the same top design as the shelf and adds a girly touch to the room.

Just so you don't think I'm crazy with all this white furniture, we picked out the paint colors tonight. My scanner is not working right now, but I will try to scan the actual paint chips when I get the new one hooked up. In the meantime, imagine Stampin Up's Gable Green and a much much lighter Lavender Lace. We bought the paint tonight and Chris is going to paint a little bit on two walls tomorrow night so that we can see if we want 2 or 3 walls green. My mom is coming in town this weekend to help with decorating and planning for the nursery. Plus it's always nice to have my mom around!

Just a couple pics of how Taylor's room is coming along, but there are still beer signs on the walls! Guess those will be coming down tomorrow night. You will notice that I still have some items of mine to get out of there too! If you were to look around the floor, you would also find one of Sadie's toys. For some reason she likes to leave a toy in there. Wonder if that's a hint that she's okay sharing with the baby?

I stamped!!!

Believe it or not, I actually got my stamps out over the weekend and loved every minute of it. I even managed to use my Cuttlebug too! That is just the coolest machine and so easy to use! I create my cards around finding a way to use it. We've been receiving gifts for our little one and I needed to send out some Thank You cards, but just couldn't bring myself to buy any when I have all these great stamps. So I made myself sit down and make some cards. I just love how they turned out and already need to make some more so that I have some on hand when we get gifts. My baby showers are coming up in February and I really need to have lots made before then so that I can just write my notes on the inside and mail them out. Who knows how I'll be feeling then if I already get tired and I'm only 6 1/2 months along at this point. Well back to my creation...
I just love the swirls background made with my Cuttlebug and the ticket corner punch. I had been making my own corner punch, but they were never the same size. It is much easier to do with the actual punch and worth every penny! I also had to add my own little touch to the back of the card with a stamp that I found at Amuse when I went to Seattle to visit Melinda. I find it even more appropriate now that I look more like the picture. I always stamp the back of my cards with my 'Wendy's Whims' stamp, but just love the pregnant lady. Hope everyone enjoys my humor in this! Off to bed for me and the little one.

Nursery Theme

I know, it must be a miracle that I'm posting again. I just thought I would post about what has kept me so busy lately. Of course you know about my soon-to-be little one, but along with all the new daily adventures I've been working on getting her room ready. For some reason it was really easy for me to find boy themes that I liked, but just couldn't find a girl theme. It was also a challenge to find a theme that didn't scream pink! Chris is still adjusting to the idea of pink being everywhere. So after much stress and search we decided to do an 'Under the Sea' theme. I found the bedding at Target and it is too cute! I've included a picture so that you can see how cute it is too. The picture doesn't show, but the top of the quilt has a patch with an octopus and one with starfish. I will take pictures as we start to decorate her room, but for right now it still have a guest bed up, air hockey table in the closet(in pieces) and neon beer signs on the walls. This weekend will be a weekend of taking down signs and moving more stuff out. The crib is in there, just in pieces. I think we are going to paint the walls lavender and light green, but I have to figure that one out too! Stay tuned for my nursery updates. Maybe in between all my theme picking I can find time for my stamps that have been calling my name!
