I love that when Lizzie gets up from her nap that often she wants to spend a few more minutes snuggling all her stuffed friends in her crib.  This is a huge improvement from when she used to SCREAM for me to come get her up.  Like I-don’t-need-the-monitor-to-hear-her type of scream.  I also love her sweet smiles and giggles as she loves on each of these stuffed friends.  Can you tell that we are Hello Kitty fans around here?

Taylor Tuesday

I know it’s already Wednesday, but I took this picture on Monday with all intentions for it being on time.  So just pretend it’s Tuesday for a few minutes.  K, thanks! 

I know Taylor will acquire traits from both Chris and I but I really hoped she got my sense of style, but Monday I decided to not battle her on what to wear and this is what I got.  She has taken on Chris’ thought that boots go with ANY outfit.  Too bad she missed his thought that his daughter should never be allowed out of the house in shorts that short.(ps they are supposed to be for under skirts and dresses, not worn by themselves)

There are a few important essentials to your outfit for a dance party according to Lizzie:

• safety goggle
• a dinosaur tail(that she wouldn’t wear for Halloween)
• your drill tucked into the belt of said tail
• a ribbon wand
• princess shoes
• a purse

Taylor Tuesday

If you come over to our house there is a good chance Taylor will ask if you want to play in the front yard.  What that really means is that she wants you to see how she can climb a tree.  She doesn’t get very high, but is so proud of this new learned skill and even mastered how to jump down.  We have some great trees in our yard, so I can’t wait for her to get braver and explore other trees.

Lizzie’s favorite game right now is to play ‘the airplane is leaving’ and go running through the house dragging a bag, pushing a stroller, ect.  I’m not sure how Taylor came up with this game but it is hilarious to see what Lizzie deems necessary to wear/carry with her.  She is also obsessed with this pink cowboy hat her Lita gave her and often makes it part of her outfit.  I also love to see the ‘lunch’ she packs in her bag.  This one included ice cream, cookies, a banana, pizza, and a car.  No wonder the airplane is leaving, it took her forever to explain to security why she needed all those things.

It’s amazing how a dum-dum is such a reward to her for sitting still while she got a haircut.  It was like I gave her $100.  Remind me to keep more of those on hand.  Too bad Lizzie has already figured where my current stash is and raids it as often as she can.

Sister Saturday

It’s official.  The girls finally ganged up on me and decided that being on the same side might actually give them what they want.  Too bad they are adorable when they try to pout.  I also love that they were pouting about having to come inside after playing outside for over an hour.  I wanted to pout about having to come inside and cook dinner too!  Where’s my spot on the stairs so I can pout to Chris?

Ssssshhhhh… Lizzie needs it quiet while she explores the kitchen.  Too bad she can’t take her advice more often and use a softer voice :)

Taylor Tuesday

Taylor can’t get enough of writing stories(not always real words) and creating lists right now and even had to work on a story while we played in the backyard the other day.  It’s getting harder to take her picture before she realizes what I’m doing and poses.  She was working so hard on a story about pirates and then made a map for her and Lizzie to follow to find treasure in the backyard.  Little did she know that to me, her creative stories and playing so nice with Lizzie is worth more to me than any treasure she might have found.

Sometimes even a much needed nap wins out over a yummy sucker.  And for those of you who know Lizzie and know her love for candy know I was shocked to look back and see this.  Lizzie never turns down a chance for candy and often asks for dessert even after breakfast.  And yes that is some road rash on her nose.  Poor thing fell while running on the sidewalk.
