More Scraping Thanks

I started out making a page for my frame and somehow ended up that I created a page for my Mom, my grandmother, and now my mother-in-law, but not one for me yet!  At least I have all these great pages I’ve created so far to get ideas from for my own.  You know how much I love layout ideas for my cards, well I found a layout idea for scrapbook pages too.  If you are into scraping you should check out PageMaps Blog.  They come up with some cute layouts and I love all the variations that people come up with!

Here is the layout:

apage4allseasonssketchThere’s was a 8 1/2 x 11 size, but you can change things up to fit your page size.  The frame is 12 x 12 so I just made it wider.  My MIL hates staples on a scrapbook page or card so I had to come up with something else for that element.  I struggled with the background paper for a long time and actually hoped to have this done on Thursday to give to her for Thanksgiving, but it took me a few days to find a background paper that fit just right.  I found the cute felt buttons in my embellishment drawer and thought they added a touch of softness to all the paper.  I am really starting to enjoy my Cricut and how nice it is to cut letters and shapes the size and color I want!  I put the Sure Cuts A Lot program on my Christmas list so that I can create the wording on the computer using any font and then cut it out!  We’ll see if Santa thinks I’ve been a good girl this year!  Onto my creation:

Does it count against my to-do before 30 list if I have created a page for everyone else?

It’s on my regular to-do tonight or tomorrow.  I am almost done with my indoor Christmas decoration and then I need to wrap a few presents before I can sneak back into my craft room again.

Scraping my thanks

I really like the concept of sending a scrapbook page instead of a card for the holidays and actually had my act together in time for Thanksgiving.  I wasn’t sure what to use for the picture part, so I used one of Taylor 18 month old photos.  All her other photos right now are a bit weird with her ‘cheese’ phase going on.  While I was going thru my papers to find stuff for these layouts, I realized that I need something to tell me to step away from the 12x12 paper the next time I am in Archivers, Michaels, JoAnn’s, or Hobby Lobby unless I have a specific purpose for it’s use in the next 5 days.  Here is what I came up:

Both projects use all the same items, I just moved them around to make them a tad bit different.  I hope my mom and grandmother enjoy hanging these in their frame for a couple of weeks until I get a Christmas page done.

Weekend with Nana

Sorry that I’ve taken a bit of a blogging break(aside from Taylor Tuesday).  Life has been a bit busy around here and I haven’t been good about keeping up with this part of life.

My mom came in town this past weekend and we had a wonderful time playing, shopping, playing, eating, and just relaxing around the house.  It had been a few months since Taylor had seen her Nana, but it only took a little bit before she was taking Nana’s hand instead of mine, and she still asks for Nana when she gets up in the morning or after nap.  Here are some pictures from our weekend of fun.

As if she doesn’t keep me on my toes enough already, Taylor figured out how to crawl thru the tunnel on her playscape that leads to another exit.  Now she has me running from one side to another to make sure she doesn’t fall.  Does this count as exercise?  I threw a couple of Tay’s ‘cheese’ pictures for you.  They frustrate me and make me laugh at the same time.  Goofy girl!

I love how after Taylor is done with us pushing her in the swing, she insists that you sit in the big swing and she pushes you.  Then she runs around and stands under the playscape to say ‘hi’ as you swing.  She LOVES playing on her playscape and runs to the rail to wave ‘Hi’.  I did learn that maybe it’s not wise for me to crawl through the tunnel or try to fit my big butt down the slide.  Plus I really don’t like that our dog has taken to using the bathroom in the grass near the bottom of the slide.  (Honey can you take care of that issue???)

If you have stairs and a toddler then you will understand the next photo.  We have two small landings half way up the stairs and this is often a stalling point for Taylor.  Lately little miss has decided it would be funny to try and stand on her head while playing on the stairs.  She turns so that she can see me and giggles.  I do have to admit this is worth the stalling.

We loved having you for the weekend Mom/Nana and can’t wait to see you again in a few weeks!!!  We love you!

Taylor Tuesday

Ever since the time change, Taylor has been getting up at 7 or a little before.  This is a change from our late sleeper who used to get up around 8/8:30.  This means twos things:

1.  Mommy doesn’t always get a shower in prior to Taylor getting up

2.  Taylor is now up in time to watch her beloved Elmo(and new love Abby) on Sesame Street

Taylor loves when Chris brings her into our bed on weekends to watch cartoons, so it has been a sweet treat lately to come watch cartoons in our bed on weekdays too!  I had to grab the camera one morning when she looked cute all snuggled in our bed.

Taylor Tuesday

I am still running into the issue that Taylor says ‘Cheese’ and does this goofy look every time I pull the camera out.  I was able to catch one of her while she was pretending to change baby Emma’s diaper.  Taylor has started pretending lately and I think this was a cross between pretending and having fun pulling all the wipes out of the container.  Now if only Taylor laid as still as baby Emma when it comes to diaper changing!

Taylor Tuesday

Monday was such a gorgeous day that we spent most of it playing outside.  It was a well earned day after all the rain we had in October and September!  I grabbed the camera on one of our trips out to hopefully catch a few pics of a busy girl.  Well Taylor has now decided to stop and say ‘Cheese’ each time I pull the camera out, but she doesn’t look directly at the camera or smile.  This one catches it pretty well.

I couldn’t even catch a picture of her going down the slide without her stopping to give me the awkward ‘cheese’ pose.

Hopefully this phase won’t last long and she’ll go back to playing without the constant stopping for the camera!
